It has religious/traditional services as well for the officiant or minister who performs both. I recommend this to anyone either performing a wedding, or getting married. This is my "go-to" for wording ideas for all types of ceremonies! Blessings!

Great wedding Ceremony guidebook. I'm using it to plan my wedding in working with our wedding officiant. It provides a great overview of typical wedding components. I highly recommend purchasing the full book as well to get more detailed ideas on what to include in each step of your wedding (ex. Processional, Opening Remarks, Readings, Declaration of Intent, etc.).

If you're planning or officiating a wedding, this is clearly the only book you'll ever need! The Guidebook is like having your own personal sherpa to help guide you through the wonderful & creative journey of planning one of the most memorable and meaningful day of your life. The Guide book is a companion book to Dayna's expanded version, Do-It-Yourself Wedding Ceremony (highly recommended!) Don't wait on buying this one, let the excitement begin here! I have given Dayna's expanded book to two of my nieces and they're just thrilled!

This is a very well written, and easy to follow instruction manual for do it yourself weddings, and anyone wanting to officiate. Even for someone that was going to hire out much of the work, and have someone else affiliate it, this book was packed full of considerations that we would not have thought of. I especially appreciate that there is good information for many types of ceremonies spiritual, and non-spiritual, and it did not contain any bias towards any particular faith. We also appreciated the meaningful philosophies, and insights, on the commitment of marriage, and deep love. Going to purchase the author's other book for more of her insight.

This little book is a compilation of a bigger book by the same author. The ceremonies described in this booklet are easily understood and get the job done when you need a quick ceremony to marry a couple.

This was a short read and didn't offer many options. There was a section for religious, non religious, zen and Celtic... most didn't apply to me. Save your money and do a google search to get more relevant information.

Fantastic book with great ideas for ceremonies.

Provides basic information, helpful for new pastors and those new to performing ceremonies. I wish I had this resource when I first officiated at weddings.

The book really is beautiful and makes a great gift ( I ordered a few extra copies to gift to friends ) Most importantly it is a truly pleasurable read. Beth takes you on parts of her own fascinating journey with Japan as she shares the true wisdom of Wabi Sabi. As with Beth's other wonderful book - Freedom Seeker - I needed a notepad nearby to write down all of the inspiring but thankfully practical advice for living a perfectly imperfect life!

Loved this fantastic book - starting with the beautiful cover and then turning the luxurious thick paper pages. I read a little bit each morning while having my coffee. Sometimes only reading a couple pages to enjoy it more.The short vignettes throughout the book conjured up magical images, smells, tastes, and more.Lots of helpful practical advice too.

The cover of this book made me want to have it. Every time I look at it I feel a wave of peace wash over me.One of my favorite parts in the book is when Beth talks about self-help gurus and how they claim to have woken up one day and their life is now perfect.Beth says, “I don’t buy it. We are all works in progress. Some of us happen to have had the opportunity to reflect, and perhaps have a platform from which to share what we are discovering as we go, but, in truth we are all learning from one another.”I felt like I found a truth sister as I often say that I too am a work in progress. Life is messy, but that is where the nuggets of wisdom are. Perfect is an illusion.We Westerners can learn so much from Japanese wisdom and it was such a delight to travel down the many roads of Wabi Sabi that Beth shares in her exquisite book after having spent many years living and working in the culture.I found myself so much more calm and at peace reading this book. It’s why it remains on my coffee table – not only for the gorgeous and serene cover, but for the wisdom that floats out to greet me each time I glance at it.

I recommend from the bottom of my heart. If you seek wisdom and desire to be a better human, give it a try.Beth Kempton's 'Wabi Sabi' is a gift to human kind. A few of my favorite books are 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' by Dale Carnegie, 'Tuesdays with Morrie' by Mitch Albom, and 'Be Here Now' by Ram Dass. I think this book belongs in that category too. I've marked Kempton's book to pieces. It's just so full of wonderful advice.So importantly I've learned that it is not failure that defines us, it is how we move forward from failure. "Falling up" (126). Brilliant!

I absolutely loved this book, and almost immediately started re-reading it again. It also inspired me to get started on a little project I had in my head for a long time, and now I am in the middle of this new, life-changing path, thanks to this fantastic book. This is not an average "feel good, feel cozy book". It has real substance to it, it is educational, interesting, motivating and one of those rare books that are not just informative, but also impeccably written. You will find yourself in perfect flow reading it, but also often reaching for your journal to take notes. You will also want to travel to Japan, big time...like actually checking flights on Skyscanner level. I cannot recommend it enough.

"Feminasty" Erin Gibson is tough, vulnerable, political, nasty and best of all, hysterical. This book made me literally LOL, literally blush, and made me slam my fist on a table and want to take action. We're lucky to have her and this book.

I've been a fan of Throwing Shade since the very beginning, and I've seen Erin and Bryan every time they've come through my city. This book is good, too!However, there's a section about herpes and I was a bit confused to see a statement along the lines of "if a guy had chickenpox as a kid and now gets cold sores on his adult mouth, congratulations, you have herpes!" Chickenpox and cold sores are not caused by the same virus. They behave similarly and are genetically related. but having chickenpox as a kid does not cause cold sores or genital herpes. This really seems like something an editor should have caught before publication.Varicella zoster, which causes chickenpox, can lie dormant in someone's body and then become reactivated years later (especially when their immune system gets worse, like in old age), and then reappear as shingles. The virus may now be at the surface of the skin again, so a person with shingles could pass chickenpox on to a young child or someone else who had never had chickenpox.The different types of the herpes simplex virus, HSV1 and HSV2, both operate in the same way, lying dormant in the nervous system, then reappearing at the skin's surface, to then spread to other people. But cold sores are caused by HSV1, not the chickenpox virus.

I read a lot by female authors and Erin Gibson’s book is one of the most relatable books I’ve come across. As a feminist it’s easy to get bogged down by the sheer amount of issues that there are to learn about these days and this book manages to make those problems approachable. I appreciate that Erin Gibson touches on important topics in her book, backing them up by teaching readers like me about meaningful pieces of history in a way that is easy to understand and judgement-free. She does this all and still manages to be so funny and write lightly so it’s like you’re sitting around, sharing stories with your best feminist friend over some wine (okay maybe a booze that’s more rage-y like gin). This book is a reflection of modern-day feminism: Poignant, inclusive and serious, but with the right amount of levity and a little self deprecation for funsies.

I wanted to love this book, and due to the other reviews, fully expected to!But...I didn't. Or, not as much as I'd wanted.The good stuff:This IS a funny book, for sure. I snorted laughing more than once, and as humor is not always easy to translate out onto the page, I give Gibson big-time kudos for that!I also liked the arrangement--separate essay-style organization, making for concise, on-topic 'rants' that are more striking than an entire book-long monologue ever might be.I like her writing voice as well. Very chatty, very accessible, very much like sitting and having wine with your neighbor and solving the world's problems. The constant footnotes, in particular, as asides, are brilliant. LOVE them.Her topics, all to do with feminism and politics, are wonderfully snarkily-spot-on.And the problems: Gibson seems to have needed a better copy editor. Her writing was unclear in a few places, having nothing to do with maintaining her 'voice' but everything to do with being more exact about writing that voice down, including proper punctuation.And finally, when it came to the chapter on Herpes, as another reviewer noted at length....her medical statements are incorrect, and misleading. As is her blase approach to a disease that while, yeah, rather too common, can also cause dreadful problems particularly for new babies.You will like this book if you like irreverent humor, political in particular. If you don't mind a constant stream of profanity. If you want a quick-easy-read, something like a non-fiction beach read, that will leave you reaching for that glass of wine at the end.You will not like this book if you are a stick-in-the-mud without a sense of humor, cannot tolerate any profanity worse than "dang" or cannot stand women who speak up and out and do so forcefully. (Which means you probably should read the thing.)

This book has it all:- Awkward middle school fashion choices- Chain smokers (like the band, but not)- Pro-LGBTQI Catholic grandmothers and the granddaughters who love them- Pro-life, pro-conversion camp, 48th Vice President extraordinaire, Mike Pence- Towel charmsAnd that's just the first 20 pages.As a long time listener of the wildly hilarious (and delightfully irreverent) "Throwing Shade" podcast, I am beyond thrilled to have a book chock-full of Gibson's unapologetic jabs at the patriarchy. From the book's dedication all the way to the nitty gritty end, Gibson reminds us that the future is female, and the future is now.Treat your damn self. Buy the book.

I bought this book because I knew it'd be funny, but I didn't realize how incredibly informative it is as well! We need more voices like Gibson's to yell out loud about what's wrong with the patriarchy. It's an important and hilarious read that is so critical at a time like this. Buy a copy for yourself, and for every woman you know! And men! They need to know this stuff!

I’m a long time Throwing Shade fan and Feminasty exceeded all my hopes! Erin is both hilarious and touching. She put into words all the frustrations women live with that I’m usually too busy anger-crying to say clearly, and still leaves on a hopeful note.If you listen to Throwing Shade there are lots of familiar references for you. And if you don’t, there so much more excellence where this came from.

As other reviews have mentioned, the story in this book is very much condensed. I knew that going in so our expectations were not set high. My 2 year old son loves books and anything I can do to encourage reading is a plus. The character and story recognition appealed to him and he was excited to read this book. It is a part of our nightime routine, we have several books in rotation.

The big collection of Little Golden Books we have in our home based on all of the Disney movies have been so wonderful - with their colorful illustrations and simple words - for our older grandson, who started kindergarten last fall. We included this in a big box of "Planes"-related items as one of his Christmas gifts, and it gives a very condensed version of the movie plot, but hits on the main points in its 24 pages surrounding main character Dusty Crophopper's adventures in the Wings Around the Globe Rally.It mentions several of the main characters other than Dusty: Chug (his best friend), Skipper (his coach), Bulldog (the British Racer), El Chupacabra (Mexican racer), Ripslinger (the antagonist) and Ned & Zed (Ripslinger's thugs), as well as Bravo & Echo (the Navy jets) and the Dwight D. Flysenhower (ship).Our grandson enjoyed reading this aloud to us, and I thought about what a nice children's birthday party gift this would be (Amazon's $3.59 price was under the imprinted $3.99 price on the back cover) if accompanied by one of the diecast figures, which go for around $6 - fun gift for just @ $10 total!

Nice book arrived in record time

Update: My now 2.5 year old dusty fan loves this book. Initially he didn't want to sit through the book, but now he does. It does have some hard words for 2 year old to understand like coach, pit crew, Wings around the globe rally etc, but he doesn't seem to mind that. He likes to identify the characters in the story and has lots of Planes toys now.An average 2 year old finds this book too long to sit through. My son and other kids whom I gifted this to quickly lost interest as we kept reading. He liked shorter lined and books. However he likes long books like "Are u my mother" and "The cat in the hat"..

Great book to bring a movie to bedtime story reading. Illustrations are not the same as the movie or other Planes books, but that doesn't seem to turn off my son who was 4yo when he received it. Any astute child will notice the differences between this story and the Disney film (which scenes were left out), which makes for some good analytical thinking for preschoolers.

I could not find this book anywhere. So I order it online. Not only was the shipping fast but my son adores this book. He is 4 years old and loves every picture in the book. Perfect for bed time stories.

Let me preface this negative review of this book by stating that the Disney Cars/Planes themed TOYS are creative, imaginative and well-made; and the Disney Cars CARTOONS are wonderfully captivating, and my child adores them (especially the cute music.) AND, Little Golden books are some of the most beloved children's books ever created. BUT, with that said, .... something went totally awry with the Disney Cars/Planes Little Golden books: They are TERRIBLE. The plots are convoluted and strange. The Little Golden Books company should re-think this one as these do NOT reflect well on the long-standing and fantastic reputation of the Little Golden books company. Very unfortunate. Would it be so difficult to hire a better writer?
