I met Francene when I lived in Colorado. Lovely lady and love these cards. I'm disappointed that I took this long to order them. Guess I wasn't ready, but they are one of my fav oracles now.

This is currently my go-to oracle deck. I love the use of sacred geometry in its simplest form and in the intricate art. The words of wisdom are fabulous and give clarity where needed.

Just learning how to read oracle cards and this one is a good one to start with. The book is concise and helps to lead you into other thoughts and ways of being.

Wanted to meditate on some geometry objects at the same time use for inner exploration these work.

Story to me is like a mixture of Vampire Diaries & Harry Potter! The environment that CC creates is definitely magical & very alluring to fixate ur reading thoughts on. I'm totally enjoyn Book 1, disappointed only to wait for the whole Amazon set in 1wk b/c i'll be done w/ bk 1 by tonight! I'm not a YA, more like a OA, older adult who enjoys any book regardless of age group. If the synopsis sounds interesting, fictional or non-, i'll read it. Wont bother w/ lengthy appraisals for this series, just buy it & enjoy!P.S. THANK GOODNESS IT WILL BE A MOVIE, YEAH, HOPE IT DOES IT JUSTICE.

 If you are a huge fan of this series, this book is a must have! It is gorgeous from the cover to all the special illustrations inside to the gold pages. Definitely something special to put on your bookshelf and show off.

I wasn't sure that I was going to like this book. Honestly, when I did pick it up I was just trying it in expectation of unhauling it. By the end of the first chapter, however, I was hooked. The world building was strong. Although there was a lot of it at times, occasionally bordering on feeling like an info dump, it never fully crossed that border. A first book in a fantasy series is expected to be heavy on the world building anyway. The characters were also well-developed and three-dimensional. The plot, although slowed down at times due to filling in backstory, remained fast-paced enough to maintain interest throughout. This isn't to say that there weren't problems. The writing wasn't always as smooth as it could have been and I'm not sure how I feel about the Jace/Clary bit (I don't want to say more because of spoilers). At this time, it seems like this plot point was unnecessary and the author would have been better off avoiding it. Despite a few shortcomings, however, I was pleasantly surprised by this book and am definitely interested in seeing where Cassandra Clare takes this story next.

This is so incredibly beautiful! The pages are gilt and there's color and black and white illustrations on every chapter, and inside covers are portraits of Jace and Clary. Definitely worth my instabuy back in March when this was announced!Goodreads says this is supposed to have bonus stories, but it doesn't. It does include funny character profiles from the Clave - including one for Church! Amazon's description does not mention bonus stories, so while I am slightly disappointed, I recognize that it isn't the book's fault.

City of Bones is the book that started the phenomenon that is the Shadowhunters world and fandom. The book introduces us to a beloved cast of characters and the fascinating Shadow World that will be developed over the course of the future novels. We discover the world through the eyes of Clary Fray, a girl who always thought she was normal but discovers that she is actually part of a race of people who are part-angel and spend their days fighting back the demon hordes.Clary and her best friend Simon are thrust into a world full of werewolves, vampires, warlocks, fairies and demons. They meet three Shadowhunters around their age: Jace, Izzy and Alec who live in the New York Institute. The first book has a number of different action scenes, but I think it shines most in the world-building department. Cassandra Clare develops an intricate world that you can easily imagine and yet is infinitely more complex than our own familiar one.While there is some character development, the book only takes place over a period of two weeks. We are just getting to know the characters and that development or growth will come in later books. For now, we are learning about these characters and their secrets. Having read the series before, I am already in love with certain characters so it's strange seeing their early personas. They grow so much over the course of the six books that there are some that I don't particularly connect to, yet absolutely adore them later on.Although I relate most to Clary, Jace is by far my favourite character in the series. He is witty, sarcastic and has the best lines in any scene. Some of the other characters have hilarious, memorable lines as well because Cassie writes fantastic dialogue - but Jace is the star. He can cause you to laugh out loud, which might garner you strange looks if you're in public reading.This book is fantastic, but you can definitely see the difference in writing quality between this book and Cassie's most recent series. I think the writing is well done, the world building is immersive and the characters are relatable. I adore this book because it is what introduced me to the Shadow World and my beloved Shadowhunters, but I can admit that her writing has come so far in the last ten years. Regardless, I cannot recommend this series more to young adult/teen fans of fantasy, books with unique and immersive world building and if you're willing to continue with it fantastic character building throughout the series.

If you have a day to spend trying to figure out how this book was configured, then buy it. Otherwise it is with out a doubt the most convoluted book on Collectible fishing lures. I found nothing useful and I cannot believe that there was only slight mentions of Fred Arbogast who was a lure design pioneer. And even that was scattered out in the book which I believe was laid out by year classifications. Confusing and very incomplete. NO REFERRALS!

This book covered 90+% of the lures in the period my husband collects. Its color pictures make identifying lures quite easy, and explanations of other similar lures is quite valuable. He said all indexes should list a lure by name, because you may not know the maker. He did say it seemed to leave a lot of information out on southern lure makers. He had read 1/2 the book, before he set it down!

Gift for the hubby! He seems thrilled with this item. It was a good, quick transaction too. Item was just as described.

I bought the entire series and they would have been better to cover each maker verses time period. Because of the structure its hard to focus on a manufacturer. You just get a little of each in each book.

The worst organized and presented book I have ever seen with the exception of the bible. Bad photos and totally impossible to use. He schould have stopped with the first edition.

Same problem for me as Vol. 3. Not enough detail.

This book is amazing. It brings you through the years and has some flashbacks to previous volumes.The set Vol 1-5 would be a terrific Christmas gift for the collector.

When I read a children's book, I try to imagine what kind of read-aloud experience it would be for me and my children when they were small. My review reflects that scenario.But first... this was a tree book. When I was younger I wouldn't have found the font difficult. But I could only read a few pages at a time now. Thank goodness for the smaller paragraphs and pictures.Pictures! Why don't adult books have pictures? Even simple ones like in this book are such a blessing to tired eyes and an inspiration to the inner artist. But I don't think the pictures would have won my young critics hearts.The story, on the other hand, would have been a tough bedtime read. Thinking of how comical it would have been for Mom to be reading the words of the giant. Word of warning to parents about to try that, READ AHEAD. That way you can pronounce the words silently before exposing innocent ears to words you didn't mean to say. No, the Giant's words are all G-rated. But there are tongue twisters I know I would have fallen for. I can see my kids now rolling on the floor laughing at Mom for the mistakes.Some say this story is scary. I suppose that may be true but my children would have been delighted.The child, Sophie, and the Big Friendly Giant were great characters. The bigger giants were scary but the reader feels protected by the intelligence and common sense of BFG and Sophie.I wish, though, that the bad giants were given a chance to show they could learn to be good. All in all, this was a fun book that I was glad I got to read. Now I can watch the movie!I was so happy to be able to read the library copy of this book.

I am a ten-year old girl and I thought The BFG was a great book. I loved how some of the chapters made me laugh out loud. It was a very creative book and I always looked forward to reading it. I've read many books and The BFG was definitely one of my favorites. I decided to read The BFG because I saw an advertisement on TV for the movie. I'm glad I did! I would definitely -and no question about it- recommend it to a friend!

One of the best kids' books ever written. The BFG is a lovely creature whose demeanor and presence validates young readers' fears without pandering or being overly scary. Dahl had a great eye for the ludicrous in the world and invites kids in on the ridiculousness. A joy to read aloud, for as long as the young reader will let you! They almost always want to take it on for themselves before you want to let it go. Get your own copy, mom, dad...

This is a six-star story by one of the all-time best authors ever. My 6-year old says it is his favorite book in the world so far and has been using words like scrumdiddliumptious for the last week we have been reading it.However, the copy of the book I received new gets one start because it IS MISSING THE MIDDLE 32 pages!!! I just got to page 95 reading out loud to my 6-year old, and the next page in the paper-back is 193! The book proceeds 193 to the end including the ads for other Roald Dahl books, then goes page 129 through to the end again, including a repeat of the 193 onward section. Pages 96 through 128 are missing entirely. This kind of misprint happens sometimes, but it is such a bummer in the middle of the story! I wish Amazon could send me the kindle version so I can get back to our favorite bed-time story tonight, and eventually a replacement paperback so we can have a complete copy for our younger child when he is old enough for it!

My brother had this book when we were growing up. At the time, I would read anything I could get my hands on. I was immediately drawn in to Roald Dahl's amazing storytelling. Now that my daughter is a teen, I was telling her about this book. I was able to find it gently used on Amazon for a really good price. Now she's enjoying these stories too

Truly enjoyed the book although it took a little getting used to the giant's language. Once I got the hang of it, it was quite entertaining. My granddaughter, who is an avid reader in 2nd grade, was thrilled to get the book. She loves the giant's language and now makes up her works while playing. To funny trying to guess what the words are.

I'm about 75 pages into this book and it is already one of the most fascinating, important, and engaging books I've ever read. And it's funny, too, which was unexpected. This should be required reading by EVERYONE. After you read this book, I can't imagine how you could not prioritize getting an 8-hour night of sleep every night. Some astounding facts:-Routinely sleeping less than 6 or 7 hours a night increases your risk of cancer by 50%.-Every species every studied, preceding the emergence of vertebrates even, sleeps. Some species can sleep with only half their brain (!!). Sleep is an incredibly risky thing for an animal to do because you are completely vulnerable to predators when you sleep. But sleep is THAT important that it was preserved by evolution.-After even one night of less than 5 hours of sleep, natural killer cells (which kill cancer cells that appear in your body EVERY DAY) drop by 70%. Just one night!!!Buy it, read it, and then share it with everyone you know.

I love this book! As a life-long poor sleeper, I've read dozens of books that supposedly held the answer to solving my sleep problems. None have, until now. The author not only gives you lots of ideas on how to get a better night's sleep, he tells you why it's so important to get in your nightly 8 hours.
